Which Shampoo is Best for Dandruff: Ayurvedic vs Chemical

Kesh King Anti Dandruff Shampoo

Our skin and hair take a beating with the changes in the weather every single time, during the season transition. The change in the temperature and humidity is enough to make the scalp and hair act out, And the major problem faced by us during this period is always the issue of stubborn dandruff.

For some, it is an itchy scalp and dry, dull hair, accompanied by dandruff. And when dandruff appears, it isn’t just the scalp that faces other added issues, you are also prone to face some acne caused by dandruff, along with increased hair fall. And none of us want to face these issues.

For me too, the problem is the same!

Every Spring and Autumn, stubborn dandruff appears on my scalp, leaving me running around finding solutions that are gentle enough, but also effective. Scalp type contributes to further aggravating the dandruff issues. For me, around autumn the scalp turns dry and in spring it gets oily, so dandruff needs to be treated keeping in mind the state of the scalp at the time.

I always look out for something gentle and effective to tackle my dandruff problem of mine at any time of the year, and what better than proven and potent ayurvedic ingredients to help you with it. Some of which are easily available in our kitchens.Although the availability is good with some ingredients, putting them to use might be a big challenge, especially when it comes to our scalp and hair, because I am very finicky with hair masks, and I personally don’t have so much time to prepare a mask and apply and keep that on my hair.

That is where I like to look for a product that I can use easily, that solves the problem I am facing, and has the ingredients which are ayurvedic and proven to be effective. Also, must-have ingredients that I would have used anyway!

In this search, I came across something as easy to use as a shampoo that has 21 ingredients! 21, ayurvedic ingredient’s goodness in one product!!

The Emami Kesh King Anti-Dandruff shampoo is the product that I am ecstatic to have found, because of the reasons I mentioned above!

My solution all my life have always been anti-dandruff homemade masks with curd and lemon as they are said to be the most effective on dandruff. I also tried dandruff treatment shampoos with ayurvedic herbs on alternate days. But it is either not effective on the type of dandruff I am facing at the time, or it is too much of a hassle, and I end up not doing this routine.

But with this solution, I don’t have to worry about all the hassle and can simply jump in the shower and take care of dandruff, for both oily and dry scalp.

The Kesh King anti-dandruff shampoo has curd, lemon and 21 ayurvedic herbs such as neem, bhringraj, amla, and aloe vera. These ingredients with curd actives as the base help in supporting a clean and calm scalp, which in turn results in healthy, smooth hair, even with the transition in weather.

The shampoo is free of parabens and any harmful chemicals, so it makes sure it does its job gently. By keeping the scalp clean and healthy, it also resolves all other issues caused by flaky dandruff.

Let’s dive in on how to use the Kesh King Anti-dandruff shampoo. It can be used by itself as the shampoo, or the shampoo can be used after oiling your scalp and hair with the Kesh king ayurvedic oil.

A few tips to help you with oiling your hair pre-shampoo for treating dandruff, first and then we’ll dive into more about the shampoo itself –

  1. Make sure you oil your hair and scalp very, very gently so that you don’t irritate your scalp further.
  2. Keep the oil for a few hours, do not apply the oil overnight, since you are trying to treat dandruff, there is a chance that the friction due to sleeping can cause further problems.
  3. If you do oil overnight, make sure to change your pillowcase after shampooing, before sleeping.
  4. Use only a few drops of oil on your scalp. Don’t over oil your scalp.
  5. Shampoo only once, don’t double wash, oil accordingly so that you can wash your oil off in one wash.

Now that you know the pre-shampoo dos and don’ts, let’s get on with why I like the kesh king anti-dandruff shampoo and recommend it.

  1. Very mild ayurvedic fragrance while using the shampoo and almost no fragrance left behind after the wash. I really appreciate this.
  2. Wash off the oil on the scalp with one wash.
  3. Soothes the scalp after each use.
  4. Packed with proven and potent ayurvedic herbs and actives.
  5. Gentle and effective on the scalp and visible dandruff
  6. Has a very ergonomic packaging, so easy to use in the shower.
  7. Budget friendly!

Those were the points I wanted to highlight the most. I have also seen a bit of reduction in hair fall in the time I have used this so that is great. I would not recommend that you follow it up with conditioner if you are oiling your hair, because this makes your hair manageable anyway. But, since I have long and dry hair, I like to use a mild conditioner on the very ends of my hair to detangle, if I am washing my hair without oiling it first.
